Welcome to The Black Neighborhood!!
The Black Neighborhood Mental Health Hikes are intended to provide outdoor spaces for black people to practice mental mindfulness within community & nature.
This hike is considered moderate-easy due to slight elevation at some points, and exposure to the sun once above the treeline.Β
-This trail is a 2.5 mile loop with great views of Richmond, CA BUT little shade! Will be a great hike to those who have found our recent hikes a bit more challenging. But donβt forget, this is still a hike and a chance to get out and move! WE BLACK OUTSIDE!
Event Details:
- Hike will begin promptly at 9:30 am, so please arrive early
- Trail: Bonitas Gate and Belgum Trail Loop
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Distance: 2.5 mile loop
- Experienced Kids, dogs on-leash are welcomed

The top of Wildcat Canyon Park (Alvarado staging area) entrance parking LotΒ
Hiking Checklists (please bring):
-Proper hiking shoes (closed toed, ankle support)
-Sunscreen & a hat (little shade on trail)
-Satchel/Backpack to carry water + snacks
– Headphones if you’d like to listen to music
